“How to live with a bad hearing?”

When I turned 20, the rumor began to fall. Now I have neurosenoric hearing loss of the third degree, I wear hearing aids, but they almost do not help. I still understand the speech of one person, and when the interlocutors are more, it is difficult. I feel that in communication I “brake”, I am constantly in tension, from this my head often hurts. Because of hearing I lost my job, now it is very difficult to find a new one. Self -esteem has fallen, I don’t want anything, my hands are down ..

Elena, for any person with a chronic disease, the most difficult thing is to accept the fact of the disease. Often this is a task that it is impossible to cope with yourself: a huge proportion of patients during the first formulation of a chronic or deadly diagnosis fall into depression.

You live with neurosenoric hearing loss for almost half of your life, for a long time you coped yourself, but the loss of work, obviously, completely unsettled you. I think you should turn to a psychologist: a specialist will help you survive this difficult stage, restore self -esteem and gain strength to move on, find a new job and change your attitude to the disease.

People are very difficult to lose something important or deterioration in the quality of life. You could not only hear for many years – and the audial channel is very important for obtaining information – but also enjoy, for example, by music or sounds of nature, so you have lost part of the information from the outside world and pleasure.

Nevertheless,

you have not surrendered, worked for many years, did not go into yourself, were in society. Now, unfortunately, a difficult period for you, but it will not last forever. At the moment, it seems to you that nothing good awaits you ahead, that you will not find a job, but this is not so. What is your occupation? What adjacent areas can you go? For example, in those where communication is possible through correspondence.

Now more and more companies are ready to hire people with disabilities. If you live in a small city, consider the option of remote work in large cities, where there are much more tolerant and progressive people.
